Bondi Beach is easily accessible from the center of Sydney, which is also connected by public transport.
The beach is about a kilometer long, is a fine sandy beach bordered on either side by two reefs each year and is the destination of appassioanti of surfing. On a scale of 1 to 10 Hazard, Surf Life Saving Australia in 2004 gave voting 4 to 7 in the northern and southern parts of the beach. Normally safe areas for swimming are delimited by special yellow and red flags. 
In the summer months, similar to what occurs on other beaches in the area, is also being paid a net anti-shark along the southern part. From the beach are sighted occasionally fins of dolphins and whales, and penguins.
In 2008, Bondi Beach has been added to the list of national heritage in Australia, the Australian National Heritage List. 
The beach has hosted the 2000 Sydney Olympics beach volleyball occasion was built a temporary stadium to 10,000 seats.
