La Lonja de la Seda (Silk Market) was born as a symbol of the golden age of Valencia, was the center of commercial and cultural activities in the early sixteenth century. In 1996 it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as one of the most beautiful and best preserved late Gothic architecture in Europe. A building on one side intimidates with the grandeur of its structure, but on the other seduces with its elegant ornaments. La Lonja is now houses the Cultural Valencia, often hosts exhibitions, as well as a necessary step during a visit to the city. When: Winter hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 9:15 to 14:00 and from 16:30 to 20:00. Summer hours: Tuesday to Saturday from 9:15 to 14:00 and from 17:30 to 21:00.
